Cancer stole our friend Michele. She was a great yarn spinner, a true friend, and, not least, one of America's finest writers and editors. After Michele died, in 2015, I vowed to go all in on building Well Again. And 82 amazing people trusted me enough to join the effort. You contributed more than $6,000 to the project, even though nothing like it had ever existed. Even though my primary purpose was not to research the cure but to help rebuild the lives of all of us who continue in the cancer voyage.

Thanks to you, we've already done miracles.

Exhibit A: Our film, "We Are Well Again." Because of you, it will be seen in all 50 states, in doctors' waiting rooms and in infusion centers where cancer patients are getting their chemo. Because of you, people will go into surgery knowing that there is a Well Again beyond cancer.

This message is so simple. But I can tell you, patients like me don't hear it in doctors' offices. Well Again is here to build the framework of community that puts a rich life beyond cancer at the heart of the discussion, not somewhere in the footnotes.

We have everything still to do. So I'm asking you to keep on being generous. Please continue to be a part of our movement. You planted this tree. Let's help it grow to shelter us all.
